What The City offers that Facebook can’t

Many people ask us if The City is basically just the church’s version of Facebook. Our subscribing churches don’t think so!

Here at The City, we actually embrace Facebook and what it can offer you.  However, Facebook cannot meet all of your church’s needs, which is why The City focuses on increasing your church’s vitality and engagement.
ENGAGEMENT!  Churches using The City have over 70% of their members, on average, engaged in regular community each month.  This is much higher than the same statistic for Facebook, which is only 50%, and much higher than what most churches were able to achieve offline previously.   So, the many ways to communicate, share, and grow via The City are drawing in higher usage than even the world’s biggest social network!
Authenticity and Privacy. With The City, you have much more control over who sees your updates, your messages, and your prayer requests, which allows you to be much more authentic and real.   You can share deep stuff and be confident that it will be private.
Small Groups. The City allows your church to manage small groups online with much more control and flexibility than Facebook offers.  You can have a flexible structure, delegated leaders, better privacy, events, and engagement metrics.
Focused Communication. The average Facebook user is connected with 80 community pages, groups, and events.  How can your church communication rise above that noise?  With The City, your church can communicate key messages in a focused way.
Advertising. Facebook is constantly pushing ads to its users.  With The City, the only promotions your members will see are the church promotions that your church wants!
Protection. With Facebook being so large, it is constantly under attack by hackers, viruses, and malware.  Your church will have none of this with The City.
